Radio Afuura Biyyaa: Interview with Obbo Melkamu Duresso, Author of the Oromo-Deutsch Dictionary.
The contribution of dictionary to the development of Afan Oromo is simply priceless. Since the official adoption of Qubee some 23 years ago, efforts have been made to develop Afan Oromo dictionaries. This year a content rich 566-page Oromo-Deutsch/Deutsch-Oromo dictionary has been published. It has been said that the work is unique by its type. The author, Obbo Melkamu Duresso, says he has been working on it for over 12 years. In addition to authoring this dictionary, Obbo Melkamu Duresso was lecturing Afan Oromo at the University of Hamburg. In this interview, Obbo Melkamu Duresso chats with Radio Afuura Biyya about his effort and challenges in this field.
